Talks about bad timing. If you have been missing sibling moments that were awkward on The Osbournes then this week’s grown up version of the show is very much for you.
Wednesday witnessed Jack Osbourne sharing with his fans that he had remarkably been sober for 18 years now. It is truly commendable and he was congratulated by fans on all platforms. He inspired many people with his caption when he wrote, “It’s not that it gets easier or harder, It’s just that it’s life on life’s terms. If anyone is trying to get sober, know that it possible if you are willing to do the work. Sending lots of love to my people who have been on this journey with me.”
It was a great caption. Of course, he has access to a lot of resources to stay sober than the average person does but he has conquered addiction for 18 years and that is commendable. Many people could also say that his access to fame and money could have made it hard for him to stay sober. Regardless, it is an exciting and commendable achievement.
However, this news was not treated by everyone as a celebration since it came two days post his sister Kelly Osbourne sharing on Instagram that she has relapsed and will now be restarting her journey for sobriety.
The Fashion Police star shared on Instagram on Monday, “This is a little hard for me to talk about, but I’ve always promised you that I will always be honest with you about where I’m at and what’s going on in my road to recovery. I relapsed. Not proud of it. But I am back on track. I just want to let you know that I am sober today. And I’m going to be sober tomorrow. But I’ve learned it truly is just one day at a time. And I just want to tell you guys the truth because I never, ever want to lie to you. Thank you so much for your support and your love.”
This was considered as awkward by many or sibling rivalry but it is neither. Kelly does not hold herself against Jack’s success and is on her own journey. Jack can be a good example for being sober for a long time and can be inspiring for her.
The last time she had relapsed was in 2017 and her brother Jack had helped her get sober back then. She had shared the same in August of 2018 by saying, “I want to take this time to thank my brother @jackosbourne who answered the phone to me one year ago today and picked me up from where I had fallen yet again without judgment. He has held my hand through out this whole process.”
Both the sister and brother, are there for each other. They seem to have a different dynamic than what they did back when they were children on the reality TV series.
