A 12-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed in the neck by a man even as he was waiting in line at McDonald’s with his family. Pittsburgh police say that they have got the suspect, Charles Edward Turner. He is currently being held at Allegheny County Jail.
Turner, who is 51 years of age, faces multiple charges including criminal attempt homicide and four aggravated assaults.
As per reports, the police have not yet found the reason for the attack. Furthermore, there seems to be no connection between the assaulter and the victim.
The boy suffered serious injuries from the box cutter which was used as a weapon to hit him. He was immediately taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of now, he is stable.
As stated by Cara Cruz, the deputy public information officer, the boy was with his family, standing in line when he was assaulted. Two McDonald’s employees moved quickly to help the boy.
The investigation is still on and the police are confident about finding the motive behind the assault.
Detectives from the Major Crimes and Crime Scenes are investigating the matter and going through all the sources and evidence involved in the crime.
Pittsburgh is generally known for low crime rates. However, incidents like this can make people believe otherwise. Although the region has been marked as one of the safest in the country, there certainly needs to be more concern when people get to know about assault incidents.

There seems to be some fear among people when they hear of incidents like these, especially due to the reason that there was no alleged connection between the boy and the suspect. It could mean that the man is a psychopath. This is in no way good news for the people of Pittsburgh.
